In 2016 I turned 50, I was working in the corporate world, and I knew I didn't want to do that for the rest of my days, I was feeling unfulfilled, but didn't know what I wanted to do next. I had been to Porto in May of that year and talked to several people walking the Portuguese Way to Santiago. I spoke with them and learned more about the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, researched it when i got back home and decided i could walk the 490 miles (780Kms ) in 30 days. I called my boss and asked for the time off in the summer shut down in August and was told I could not have the time off. So i decided to resign, believing that I would find something on the walk to lead me in a new direction for my life.
I worked my notice and on the 3rd of August arrived in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, in southern France in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. Where the Camino starts and i can honestly say it was the best experience
of my life, six weeks of no distractions and simplicity forces you to take stock of your life, gain a new perspective and find gratitude in the smallest things. I met some fantastic people along the way, and I realised that whatever I did from this point i wanted to be of service to others, the better they do, the better I will be.
Camino Coaching was born and I trained to be a coach on my return to the UK.
Once I qualified as a coach, I decided to specialise on helping a racer increase their performance and take them from where they currently are, to a podium contender. I have some experience in racing, so I knew the difference between a good weekend and what a bad weekend feels like.
How I helped riders & drivers access their flow
I furthered my training in the principles of peak performance, research in brain wave data and the realm of the Flow state. I started working in
the British Superbikes paddock in September 2017 with 600 Supersport rider, Sam Wilford, who I still work with today in the FIM CEV European Moto2 Championship. From that starting point, I have helped riders in many different classes and championships increase their performance and generate some stellar results.
In 2019, I started working with Sam Lowes in the Moto2 World Championship and in 2021; I continue to work with Sam Lowes as well as working with John Mcphee and Jaume Masia in Moto3 World Championship that season.
On fours wheels I have worked with drivers to improve their performance on track, in British and Dubai karting, British F4, British GB3 championships and BMW M2 Cup championships.
I have worked with Bart Horsten since 2019 and continue to work with Bart on his progression to GT racing and as an official Aston Martin F1 Team SIM development driver.
Understanding the challenges in the four and two-wheel paddocks allows me to convey podium-proven tools and techniques through my online platforms to help riders and drivers anywhere in the world increase their performance by accessing flow more consistently.
Fast forward to today
and we are embarking on a mission to expand our training programs to a larger audience than ever before. We will be launching a new, innovative app, digital training courses, and personalised one-on-one coaching sessions. Our goal is to help all levels of competitors, from teenage beginners to seasoned professionals to achieve their peak performance.
With the brand new addition of digital training and app designed to help driven business leaders to get in the zone. My background prior to Coaching in 2016 was 30 years in business management and I see so many similarities at the race track that that were in the business environment. The goals that we have in business are closely aligned to the goals that we have at a race weekend. The obstacles, the stresses, the strains that are preventing us from achieving those goals and performing, and our best transferable from one arena to the other.
That's why I'm excited about our revolutionary approach. We offer business leaders and the heads of your organisation a completely new way of tackling the challenges they face. With our race winning process, they can improve their performance, workflow, and overall enjoyment. Plus, they'll achieve results with the kind of precision and speed you only get from a well-executed pitstop. Our approach is the ultimate formula for outperforming the competition and achieving next level success.
Leave your contact information below, and a brief description of what you want to achieve.
